My name is Mrs. Joy Mitchell. I am honored to be a J. B. Stephens Elementary teacher. I teach children to read, write, spell and hopefully to love learning for life. I encourage my students to believe in themselves, and to have the courage and perseverance to achieve their goals and dreams. This is my 11th year to teach after graduating from Howard Payne University in 1999. I received a B.S. in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement. I am also a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) for Dyslexic Students and a Certified Irlen Screener for students with visual perception problems. Teaching your child is a special privilege and my opportunity to positively impact their education and life. I am invested in our children and our community. My husband and I are Bangs H. S. graduates and our 3 boys are 4th generation students of Bangs in our family. When we are not at school or at one of my kids sporting events, you can find my family on Lake Brownwood fishing, hunting or at church.
My name is Mrs. Lori Keller. I teach 1st and 2nd grade Compensatory Math and Reading. I am a certified paraprofessional. I have been an instructional aide for 7 years, after working as a library aide for 6 years at Bangs J. B. Stephens Elementary. I am married and have three children. My hobbies include reading, spending time with my family, and going to football games.
